2019 Lipton Cup, Port Madison Yacht Club, Bainbridge Island, WA

For the first time in thirty years the entire fleet of eight attending boats were designed and built before the advent of wings. 4 Classics and 4 Intermediate Moderns raced an 8 race series in light to medium conditions. The speed ranges of all 8 boats were very similar and the racing unusually competitive as indicated 1 point separations in the scores of the top 4 boats. Some of the more experienced programs sailed the classics, while some of the moderns were working up new crews. As usual for this regatta the social side was well organized with the fleet joining the Port Madison Yacht Club for a Summer Solstice dinner on the lawn and live music.
